The product listing itself hasn't disappeared or changed URL: only the first batch's stock hit zero. Specialist press reports the same situation at Instant Gaming and Cdiscount, on the same SKUs.
Take-Two and Rockstar Games haven't announced any preorder suspension on their end. The phenomenon specifically hits retailers with limited physical stock on the boxed format, it isn't a publisher decision. In other words: demand is running so hot that the first allocation batch couldn't keep up, a record hype signal for the franchise, not a production problem.

Gone in under an hour: demand is off the charts
According to the press (jeuxvideo.com, KultureGeek, Vice, RockstarINTEL), the first batch of boxed preorders sold out in under an hour at several major retailers, Amazon included. It's one of the strongest demand signals ever recorded on a video game preorder in recent years.
The cause isn't a product pull: it's a preorder quota allocated per retailer on the boxed format, drained by launch demand. The retailer gets a fixed volume from the publisher/distributor, that volume sells out fast, the listing goes out of stock until the next restock. Nothing points to a manufacturing issue, a compatibility problem, or a decision by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive to suspend preorders: it's a physical distribution bottleneck, not a development one.
Digital has no stock limit at all
If you want to preorder now without waiting for a restock, the simplest move is switching to digital: these are download-only storefronts, with no allocation quota, so no shortage risk.
