What Zelnick Actually Said About November 19
The exact quote: "We feel really good about it"
Zelnick did not hedge. In comments to IGN following the May 21 earnings call, he said:
"I've said for some time the release date is November 19. We've obviously reiterated that today, so we feel really good about it." Strauss Zelnick · IGN, Q4 FY2026 earnings call · May 21, 2026
Take-Two has repeated the November 19, 2026 date across every investor communication since it was set.
If you have been counting months since Trailer 1 dropped and the first delay landed, this is as close to settled as a Rockstar date gets.
Why Take-Two rules out any delay
Take-Two's FY2027 guidance sits at approximately $8 billion in net bookings, and that number does not work without GTA 6 shipping on time. The game is the largest single revenue event in the company's history. Zelnick was stating a balance-sheet position on that call, not offering reassurance.
Rockstar pushed the window twice while finalizing the build. Per the Q4 transcript (Motley Fool, May 21, 2026), Zelnick confirmed the studio expected to begin promoting GTA VI in summer, parallel with preorders. That sequencing materialized: preorders opened June 25, 2026. Studios still fighting the build do not hit their own marketing dates.
Preorders Opened June 25, Four Days Into Summer
Take-Two had confirmed on the May 21 earnings call that preorders would open in summer 2026. They opened on June 25, exactly in that window, alongside the start of Rockstar's marketing campaign.
How the summer 2026 window played out
"Summer" in corporate calendar terms runs June through August. Zelnick's statement on May 21 pointed to that window without specifying a month. The announcement came June 25, four days after calendar summer began. For a November 19 launch, that opening sits 147 days out from street date, within standard retailer windows for a release of this scale.
The Rockstar Newswire carried the official preorder announcement, and it stays the only source worth refreshing: follow the Rockstar Newswire for anything further on editions and pricing.
What Zelnick said about the Best Buy email of May 18
On May 18, Best Buy sent an email suggesting GTA 6 preorders were opening. Nothing went live that day.
Asked about it on the earnings call, Zelnick said he does not know the origin of that email. It was not coordinated with Take-Two or Rockstar. The summer preorder window was confirmed regardless. The Best Buy email was early by five weeks, not predictive. For the full timeline of that leak and its context, see our GTA 6 Best Buy preorder leak breakdown.
PS5 and Xbox Series X Confirmed, PC Still Not
GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is the confirmed scope for November 19, 2026.
PC was not mentioned in the Take-Two Q4 FY2026 earnings communication. It has not been confirmed by Rockstar for the launch window. Based on Rockstar's prior release strategy (GTA V PC came 18 months after console launch, RDR2 PC came 12 months after console), a PC version exists as a reasonable inference. It is not a confirmed fact.
If you are on PC: no preorder option yet. If you are on PS5 or Xbox Series X, preorders are open now. Reserve on Amazon to lock in the current price.

GTA 6 Preorders by the Numbers
Per estimates from Newzoo relayed by rockstarmag.fr, the opening week alone generated an estimated $260 million in global digital spending.
A separate tracker, Sensor Tower, put the total at more than 4.3 million preorders by August 18, 2026, worth roughly $429 million in combined revenue. Take-Two has not confirmed these figures: Zelnick called preorder demand "unprecedented" without attaching a number to it.
Platform split, per the same estimates: 77% of preorders on PS5, 23% on Xbox Series X. Consistent with the series' historical platform lean. For the full edition breakdown, see our GTA 6 official editions guide.
The Q4 FY2026 Earnings Numbers That Matter for GTA 6
These figures come from the Take-Two Interactive Q4 FY2026 earnings release published May 21, 2026.

For the full fiscal year FY2026, recurrent consumer spending grew 17% year over year and represents 78% of total net bookings. FY2027 guidance: approximately $8 billion in net bookings. This is the number built on GTA 6 shipping on November 19.
GTA Online still grew 5% in its thirteenth year
GTA Online recurrent consumer spending grew 5% in Q4 FY2026. In the thirteenth year of GTA V's commercial life, the multiplayer still posts positive growth. NBA 2K franchise recurrent spending grew 30%, with NBA 2K26 selling over 10 million units.
Two signals here. Take-Two's live service infrastructure still works, and the players who will move from GTA Online to GTA 6 on day one are logging in right now. GTA 6 ships into an audience that never left.

Why Pre-Order GTA 6 on Amazon Right Now
Preorders have been open since June 25, 2026. What Amazon adds on top:
Amazon pre-orders for major releases lock in the launch-day price at the time of reservation. If the price increases between preorder opening and shipping, you pay the lower price. Amazon charges nothing until the order ships.
For physical editions: the Amazon.fr preorder line has been closed since July 27, 2026, with no announced return date. Once it reopens, day-one delivery will again require a preorder. For a game this size, stock pressure on physical copies is real.
