October 15, 2026, at 3 PM in Paris (6 AM Pacific). Rockstar posted the "Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer" on its YouTube channel and in its Newswire. Here is the official description.
"Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."
| Information | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 90 seconds | Rockstar's YouTube video |
| Music | "Flower in a Hurricane," by Justice | Rockstar, Newswire |
| Capture | Entirely in-game, from a PlayStation 5 | Rockstar, YouTube description |
| End card date | November 19, 2026 | The trailer |
The first seconds are his. Over shots of a marina, he says, as we transcribed it: "I got in some trouble in the army. Didn't leave on the best of terms. They don't give loans or anything to people like me."
On screen, a pickup tows a boat down a road and a "The Keys" sign appears. Then the marina from above, a "BRIAN'S MARINA" sign over boats stacked on racks. Jason buffs a hull, then you see him on a ladder against a boat, inside a hangar.
His army past is not new: it was in Rockstar's character profile of Jason, published in May 2025. The trailer adds his voice: Jason brings it up himself, to say he did not leave on the best of terms. He does not say what happened, or when.
Later, around 0:40, he wears a "U.S. ARMY" T-shirt and leans on a red coupe next to Lucia, in front of stacked shipping containers.
Around 0:10, an automated message says: "This is a free call from Lucia Caminos." On screen, Jason is on the phone, cap on backwards, among the boat racks of the marina.
The message does not say where Lucia is calling from, or when in the story.
A selection of shots, described as they look, with rounded timestamps. The trailer names no character other than Jason and Lucia, and we add none.
Rockstar does not say where these scenes sit in the story, or which ones are playable. It only says the trailer was captured in-game.
A phone number at the marina, a license plate with an orange on it, two different end cards depending on the version: the easier-to-miss details are in our rundown of 10 launch trailer details.
Rockstar calls it the "Launch Trailer," with no number. It comes after Trailer 1 (December 2023), Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025) and the Extended Look from August 27, 2026, a longer video we covered here.
Vice describes the new trailer as the third GTA VI trailer. That is Vice's count, not Rockstar's. Our own Extended Look page files the August 27 video under "Trailer 3": depending on who is counting, "Trailer 3" is not the same video, and only the official title is reliable.
"Flower in a Hurricane," by Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It is a standalone single, and Rockstar says it is also on "Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album," the official soundtrack, which you can pre-save on streaming services and pre-order on vinyl or CD.
Rockstar names Justice as the composers of the game's original score, and says more information on the music is coming, "including the official score album." The Newswire gives no track list and no radio stations. For what is known about the Vice City stations, see our soundtrack and radio page.
PS5. Rockstar's YouTube description says so: "This trailer was captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5." The opening card reads "Plays best on PS5," the end card "Captured on PS5."
The trailer says nothing about the PS5 Pro or PC. Two pages cover those questions: GTA 6 on PS5 Pro and GTA 6 on PC. The Newswire post lists the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Yes. The end card shows "November 19, 2026" and "Pre-order now." Rockstar's October 15 Newswire post says the game arrives November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For the unlock time, see the release time; to download ahead, the preload.
The Newswire post also carries the ESRB block, with these content descriptors: "Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol," and the "In-Game Purchases" notice. Our parents' guide explains the ESRB rating.

Shots, cards and dialogue: noted by the editorial team from the video on October 15, 2026; the voice is transcribed with an automatic speech-recognition tool and attributed to Jason by inference (Rockstar does not attribute it). Digital pre-orders for GTA 6 have been open since June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store. Pick your console: each page details the Standard and Ultimate editions.
