GTA 6: confirmed activities in the State of Leonida

GTA V had golf, underwater races and skydiving. RDR2 had fishing, trophy hunting, duels, poker games by a campfire.

GTA 6 looks denser on this front. The State of Leonida covers a coastal metropolis (Vice City), rural zones, swampland, and warm waters. Rockstar's official trailers have given glimpses of activities across each of these environments. What we know is not exhaustive: Rockstar hasn't published an official list of mini-games. But what we've seen is enough to sketch an open world where you can spend hours without touching the main story.

Hunting and fishing in the State of Leonida

Trailer 2 confirms the presence of hunting zones in the State of Leonida, with explicit mention of Mount Kalaga. The trailers show shots of hunters in rural settings, with scenes that suggest a dense wildlife presence in the environment: alligators, birds, wild animals in the Everglades-inspired swamp areas.

Fishing is confirmed: shots from Trailer 2 show characters at the water's edge, equipped for fishing. The geography of the State, with its coastlines, lakes, and rivers, suggests several zones and types of fishing. The exact fish species available have not been officially communicated.

If hunting in RDR2 set a standard (reactive wildlife, trophies, crafting), fans expect a similar system in GTA 6. Rockstar has not confirmed the hunting mechanics in detail. What the trailers show: an environment where hunting is visibly present, not incidental.

Combat sports: MMA and cage fighting

GTA 6 includes combat sports. The official trailers show MMA scenes, including a visible fighting cage in Trailer 2. The visual style echoes mixed martial arts as it exists in real Florida: gyms, cage fights, crowds.

If Rockstar brings the depth it put into RDR2's combat (fistfighting with a blocking and counter system), an MMA system with training, skill progression and organized fights would stand as its own self-contained activity in the game. That level of detail is not confirmed: only the visual presence of MMA is certain as of today.

What is clear from the trailers: Leonida has a fight culture. Whether in the gym, in the cage, or on the street.

Water activities: diving, kayaking, spearfishing

The State of Leonida has coastlines. Trailer 2 makes this clear: beach, sea, clear Florida-style waters. Among the water activities visually confirmed or mentioned in official communications:

• Scuba diving: shots of divers in wetsuits in vivid waters, visible marine life (rays, coral, tropical fish). Diving was already in GTA V. GTA 6 appears to expand it considerably.
• Kayaking: shots of characters kayaking on calm water, in a swamp forest setting.
• Spearfishing: an underwater activity visually confirmed in the trailers. It was in GTA V; GTA 6 trailers suggest it returns.

These activities draw on Leonida's geography: a fictional Florida, bordered by water on three sides, with warm waters and abundant marine life.

Sports and leisure in the city

Beyond the rural and maritime world, Vice City and Leonida's other towns offer their own activities. Identified in the trailers:

• Basketball: courts visible in Vice City neighborhoods. Street basketball is a visually confirmed activity.
• Gym: sequences in fitness facilities, characters working out. Gym mechanics were in GTA San Andreas (2004): a return in GTA 6 is likely.
• Pool: interior shots in bars or entertainment venues.
• Racing and motorsport: trailers show circuit and off-road racing. The GTA series tradition of racing remains present.
• Nightclubs: Vice City is visible at night, with shots of clubs and events. Not a sport, but a social play space that was already in GTA V through the After Hours DLC nightclub.

Transport and exploration

The size of Leonida implies ways to explore the State that go beyond the car. The trailers confirm several modes of transport that can function as activities in their own right:

• Streetcar: shots of trams in Vice City's urban areas, reintroducing functional public transit to GTA.
• Motorbike, buggy, boat: visible in the trailers in various contexts.
• Wildlife observation: Leonida's wildlife is visually confirmed as diverse. Florida panthers, alligators, sea turtles, dolphins, tropical birds. Observing or interacting with wildlife is its own activity, as in RDR2.

What we're still waiting for (not yet confirmed)

Several plausible activities have not yet been confirmed by Rockstar:

• Surfing: Leonida's coastal environment lends itself to it. Shots of waves have been spotted. Not officially confirmed as a playable activity.
• Poker and casino games: a casino is visible in the trailers. Playable activity to be confirmed.
• Skydiving: present in GTA V, plausible in GTA 6. Not confirmed.
• Yoga / meditation: a GTA V detail (Michael could do yoga). Not confirmed for Jason or Lucia.
• Nightlife activities: clubs, concerts, events. The environment is there. The mechanics remain to be detailed.
