The official cover art, finally revealed
After months of teasing, Rockstar Games unveiled the official cover art for Grand Theft Auto VI through a video on YouTube and across all of its social channels, updating its official site in the process. The artwork uses the series' signature grid, in the GTA 5 tradition: a montage of panels with Jason and Lucia, the central duo, front and center in a neon-soaked Vice City. Around them, you can spot several faces already seen in the trailers, such as Raúl Bautista and Boobie Ike, plus a still-unidentified female figure. Helicopter, yellow muscle car, motorcycle, boat, a pink flamingo mid-flight, an alligator, a bank heist, a jet ski at sunset: the Vice City stamp is everywhere.
The image is also available as a free download at rockstargames.com/VI. On the retail PS5 box, you'll find the PlayStation 5 banner at the top and the age rating logo at the bottom, in line with physical packaging standards.
A detail fans won't miss: the GTA 6 logo gets a new variation, this time outlined in white. Rockstar also shared a brand-new Jason and Lucia artwork, available with and without the logo, along with fresh nighttime visuals of Vice City.
Rockstar also set its official page in motion. We gathered all the GTA 6 animated clips in a dedicated gallery, starting with the most recent one.
Preorders on June 25: what's confirmed
Rockstar Games was clear on one point: GTA 6 preorders open on June 25, 2026, on digital storefronts and at select retailers. That's the core of this announcement, and it effectively locks in the release date.
"Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers." Rockstar Games · Official announcement · June 18, 2026
In practice: the window between preorders opening (June 25) and release (November 19) spans nearly five months, the standard runway for a major console launch. At this stage, there's no reason to doubt the November 19, 2026 date on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Price and editions: what Rockstar didn't say
Where the announcement stays silent is on price. Rockstar communicated no official price for GTA 6, even while launching preorders. Industry speculation hovers around $70 to $80, and some analysts have floated the symbolic $100 mark for the standard edition for months. Nothing is confirmed: pricing is expected to be clarified when preorders open on June 25.
Same for editions. Rockstar did not detail its lineup. Based on the studio's habits (notably Red Dead Redemption 2), expect several tiers, from standard to collector, with bonuses for the higher editions. But until Rockstar says so, these are only assumptions.
